What SD cards do you need for a wii?
SD = Secure Digital. you don't need SD card for most games. The Wii has in-built memory but SD card is useful for saving data onto if you go round to a friend's hosue for example. Any brand of SD card will work in the Wii; it doesn't have to be Sandisk. Be sure you don't get Mini-SD or Micro-SD as these do not fit in the Wii without the use of an adapter.
Reply:oh and just to say avoid the ones that say made for the wii on them because any SD card will work and those wii SD cards are rip-offs and cost like an extra 60 dollars(there like 80 bucks each!)

no seriously my mom was in the nintendo store in manhattan and the cashier actually told her that
Reply:1. SD means Secure Digital (ok I Googled and I found out Sandisk is not the right answer. Sorry.)

2. It doesn't matter. Any SD cards will work.

3. It's not San disc. It's Sandisk.

4. You can use any SD card for the Wii. I use my camera's SD card and it works.
Reply:All of them work but you need an adapter for the mini and micro ones. (to a normal SD)
Reply:SD stands for Secure Digital. Any SD card will work.

However, your best best is to get a 1GB or a 2GB card to save your game saves, but also to backup your virtual console games and such. That way, if you delete that game, download a different one, you will still have the old game saved on the card. Then when you to delete that game, you can bring back your original game back onto the Wii.
