Does the Motorola RAZR V3 take sd cards or micro sd cards?
RAZR V3 takes Micro SD Card. There are couple of different model of RAZR and make sure the one you get is the one that has memory slot in the back.
As for music - mp3 format.

For some reason my razr v3 doesn't seem to accept and format my SDcard. :(
