Are HP Notebooks 5 in 1 digital media card readers compatible with high capacity SD cards(SDHC)?

My laptop is only 4 months old and just wondering if anyone knows if SDHC cards work in HP's card reader? I know SDHC works differently than standard SD and SDHC is not backwards compatible with standard SD host devices.

Are HP Notebooks 5 in 1 digital media card readers compatible with high capacity SD cards(SDHC)?
All SD memory cards I have used in PCs that either have built-in x-1 memory card adapter or if you bought a standalone memory card reader plugged into your Notebook PC USB port have been able to detect and read/view the applicable files. In fact my kids needed USB thumb drives for school and bec prices have dropped so low and like 4GB USB thumb drives were like $25 during Black Friday sales, I actually got rid off and returned my 2GB USB SanDisk Thumb Drives with retractable USB ports. I couldn't see or imagine giving them a 4GB Thumb Drive so off I went shopping on EBAY and guess what? Someone overseas was smart enough to build an USB Thum Drive adapter to install %26amp; configure them to accept SD memory cards.

Hope the Above Info Helps!
