How much stuff fits in 1GB? How much is enough for a mobile? Where can I get a Micro SD card?

I searched for Micro SD cards some are 1GB some are 2GB and some are 4GB. I can't think how much things would fit into those though like how many songs and photos could I have on my mobile with one of those Micro SD cards in? And where is the best and cheapest place to get them and what brand? Thanks

1GB is roughly 400 mp3s at a decent bitrate (around 192kbps).





It is also about 2 hours of video, give or take, in mpeg4 format.





Photos depend entirely on the size of the image, and the format its saved in, and the quality.





1GB will do plenty for you in terms of having mp3s on your phone, you can always change the songs later - you can't listen to 400 songs in one session!!
Reply:I Gig is 1024 MB. Roughly you can have upto1000-1200 songs in a gig. Lot of smaller movie clips. Think of a 1gig PSP, it can store a few movies/games.


Brand shouldn't matter while buying.Sandisk or if u wanna go for quality Magicgate are good brands. Ebay must have hundreds on offer! Go for a 2 Gb card.

Reply:I got my micro SD card with my phone. If you are not getting a new phone then i would say the best place to get a micro SD card would be online. It depends on the size of the files that you create as to how many of what Will fit on your phone.

Document files are WAY smaller than say a music or video file.


4 GB is a crapload, I think 1GB would be fine if you just store regular pics.
