I am getting a Panasonic 5 megapixil camera soon. I am wondering what to look for in an sd media card.
What do youes guys recomend for a SD card for a digital camera?
I generally use SanDisk memory cards, although my digial cameras use CF's not SD's, but the SanDisk SD's I use for other applications perform consistently well.
You probably want either the ultra II or extreme III, they are faster cards so you will be writing data from your camera to your card faster than with a standard card.
Reply:Check out SanDisc.com and a few demos, those are what we use in our Digital cameras.
SanDisc Extreme III
Reply:Sandisk Ultra or Extreme have an excellent reputation.
Kingston and Lexar are very good too.
Reply:5 MP usually can get away VERY comfortably with a 512 to 1 gig card. Pirce may vary from company to comapany, but they are all doing the same thing. As far as speed is concerned, Unless your camera is a true D-slr, your point and shoot can avoid having to use a hi-speed(more$$$) card. Good luck and have fun! Chris
Reply:A 1GB SD card will hold about 400 pictures on a 5MP camera. That's all you should need. I'd go with SanDisk for the brand. I have a SanDisk Memory Stick PRO DUO (For Sony Cameras) and I'm very happy with it. Just an FYI, the best way to get SD cards is amazon.com. It's an extremely reliable website with the best prices around!

Bulk package just means that it doesn't come in the plastic and paper package...just in a plastic case. Same card.

Enjoy your camera!
