Wii SD Cards? How many gigs?

I just got a Wii, but still don't have an SD card. What size should I get? I plan to get some VC games, plus PoP and Zelda. I also plan to use it for some pictures.

Wii SD Cards? How many gigs?
I think 2GB should be enough for everything.

Go and buy a cheaper SD card, not the one made for Nintendo, it's just branded and you will pay more.

Use http://www.pricegrabber.com and search for 2GB SD, they should be around $15-$20.

I have 8 VC Games and they still didn't take up the Wii memory, so you should have plenty of room with a 2GB.

Also, there is a tool to back up your Wii files onto your computer, all you do is put your SD card in your PC and use the program to back files up, that way you don't accidentally loose them. :)
Reply:Uhhh they sell 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB. Go to Gamestop.com and buy the 2GB for 20$. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?prod...
Reply:I would make sure you need one first.

I bought one for my son before I realized that the wii has built in memory and so he dosn't use the memory card I bought him.
Reply:there are only two types 1 and a 2 gb cards.
Reply:According to Nintendo, the Wii is capable of reading any sized SD card up to 2 gigs. That said, there have been some reports of larger cards working, though not always in the best way, so I would suggest limiting yourself to 2 gigs.

If you plan on using the SD card with a digital camera or to store pictures on a regular basis, I would go with 2 gigs because pictures can fill that space up really fast.

If you just plan to use it for looking at pictures on your Wii, and to keep saved games, I wouldn't go with one larger than 512 MB, but you can get a 1 gig card cheaply enough that it would be worth just getting that. It will take a lot of saved games and VC games before you fill up the Wii's internal memory anyways.

I would suggest this one if you want 1 gig: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

or this one if you want 2 gigs:

You could also find them locally for about the same price, but be careful about brand because some are cheaply made and won't last you long.
Reply:SD cards now come in 4Gb -
Reply:I would go with the 2 Gig but DO NOT BUY THE ONE THAT THEY ARE SELLING NEXT TO MOST OF THE WII'S IN THE STORES...unless it's $20 or less dollars.

The are a rip off and are over priced. You can buy any SD card (although I like Sandisk and use one in my Wii) and it will work and plus they are now only like $20.
