Can you download Wii powersaves to an SD card an use them?

Do you have to download the wii powersave software to use them? I heard that the package just comes with a 512mb SD card pre-programed with sevral saves and I have a 2G SD card. could you give me a link to where I can get it too?

Can you download Wii powersaves to an SD card an use them?
I'm not sure but I think that just a reagular SD card can't use powersaves. So you have to buy the 512mb Powersave card to do that. And I'm sure in the instructions to that they will give you a website where you can download more of them.
Reply:You can use any Wii SanDisk memory card to use powersaves. You just have to have anything that will read the SanDisk on your computer. Then just find a save that's from your region and put it in the folder that matches your game. Report Abuse

Is it possible to transfer songs from Itunes to an SD Memory Card?

Thanks for the help,

I recently bought a LG Choclate phone, and i want to transfer my 2-3 GB collection of songs over to that, from itunes. I have a 4gb SD card compatible with the phone, any way to transfer the songs from one to another?

Is it possible to transfer songs from Itunes to an SD Memory Card?
Easy (hopefully). Assuming the LG chocolate phone plays the same format of audio file as you have in your itunes, just get a SD card reader (often included in some premade HP or dell laptops and desktops, built-in to digital cameras that use SD cards and have a cable to connect to your pc, etc), hook up the SD reader to your pc, put in the SD card, and fill it up by dragging and dropping the files from your itunes window to your window for your SD card (you can open it up as a drive in my computer). Your phone might not read from the root directory of the card, in which case that might not work, but if it does, presto, if not, have fun scrounging through forums, that's what I had to do to get my own ringtones on my verizon razr.

How do I transfer music onto my SD card?

I want to have customizable tracks for Excite Truck, I always have to mute out the in game sounds to play Hendrix on my computer. Is there another way to get music on my Wii? My computer has no SD card drive.

How do I transfer music onto my SD card?
To transfer music to the SD card you will need to use a card reader that will simply plug into your usb port. Once the card is in the reader the computer will recognize it as a drive. Simply go to my computer and click on it. Click on the SD card (which should show up here once connected) and now you can drag and drop your music onto the SD card.
Reply:I don't really know anything about nintendo or whatever but if you want to add music to your sd card. (it has to be pretty big) Use a card reader. You can get them at walmart for like $10-15. Plug that into your usb and save your music to your sd. (like saving you music to a floppy or another disc) just select your card reader as the device that you wish to transfer it to. Hope this helps.
Reply:Do you have Itunes or othe music players on your computer. If you do, good, And if you have a SD slot on your computer, slide it on in there and open the SD card file- Or in my computer it is called (removable disk J). After that you can open both itunes or whatever you have and your SD card file, Click and drag the music to the SD card and, Wella, Ya have it. And/or If you have an Ipod or Mp3 put a SD mini and I think The Wii will take mini's but to be sur us the maual.

Hope I helped.

What is expandable memory, SD card and other memory cards in Mobiles? What is there advantage?

some manufacturers (i.e. motorola) allow the memory "chip" to be removed so you can put in a larger capacity chip- from Mb to Gb (megabytes to gigabytes). cell phones usually have memory sharing so u can store dozens of songs, tele numbers, pics, etc. and still have room for more.

Why my 2GB SD card no longer works in my digital camera?

I have a Konica Minolta digital camera. My 2GB sd card which is probably about 6 months old, used to work in my camera, but now it just says "Unable to use card." BUT the card still works on other card readers, such as my printer. And no, the disk lock is not on.

I tried another 2GB card in my camera, and it works fine. Why can't my camera read that SD card? Does anyone have any insightful answers or solutions to my problem?

Why my 2GB SD card no longer works in my digital camera?
format the card in the camera
Reply:Like others have mentioned reformat the card in your camera.

If your camera was writing to the card and the battery went dead it will cause a write failure and the end result will be the camera is unable to read the card. Contact customer support you might be able to return the card and they will fix it or replace it. Lexar did this for one of my cards. Sandisk was another story, they SUCK!!!! I will never purchase or use their products.
Reply:First check the metal contacts on the card ... make sure they are clean.

If you formatted the card using your computer (especially a Mac) you may have destroyed the card. This happened to me when a friend did that to a 2GB card of mine.

ONLY format using the cameras format feature.
Reply:You may have accidentally formatted it using a format that is not recognized by the camera. Some cameras have their own format so using your camera, go to the Menu or settings and look for the FORMAT feature. If you cannot find it, look for it in your camera's manual.

How much can a 8GB SD card can record?

I'm planning to buy Panasonic SDR-S7K SD Card Camcorder.

Can anybody tell me how many hours can it record in a 8GB SD card. Is it good to buy?

Which one is more preferable SD card or HDD camcorders?

Which company produces best camcorders?

Thanks to all who replied.

How much can a 8GB SD card can record?
Okay if the camera you are buying is HD it can only hold about 10 min video in a 8 GB card however if it is not HD and is normal it can store between 4 and 5 hours of video, about 6000 of 5 megapixel pictures.

I would reccomend buying a HDD camcorder because a HDD camcorder comes with atleast 30GB Hard drive. That is a lot compared to a 8GB Sd. However now a days SD cards are really cheap and can be used with almost anything so you don't just have to use them with your camcorder. But the chances of you losing a SD card is high since SD cards are so small but you an't lose a hard drive

Finally the best company in cameras or camcorders is Cannon. They produce the best camras and camcorders but if you can't afford a Cannon camera then buy sony it is the second best in the market and has beeter coutmer satisfacation then Cannon.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes

How do I replace a broken SD Card slot on a Toshiba Sattelite Laptop?
hey... try buying a usb reader... they're cheap and not that big.

it'll save you alot of trouble in repair work and bills.

or

look around on the web to try and find the part...most likely used or something from a third-party redristibuter.. then you'd have to find the assembly instructions (if you can..).

if you cant find the disassembly instructions, try this...

(YO... I CANT GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK...I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TOSHIBA SATELLITE YOU'RE USING...DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!)

- take out the deeper screws from the bottom of the unit (there could be anything from four to ten and they are often under the keyboard and/or toward the front of the unit)

- remove the keyboard... it might have clips on it too.. pop them out with a flathead scewdriver or something..

- with the keyboard off, try to see if you can remove the rest of the chassis parts (only the ones you need to remove to access the sd port..) or remove the metal plates under the keyboard (if that's where the sd slot appears to be).

- the slot may be connected to the motherboard via a cable (usually some ribbon or something, if so...be VERY GENTLE and if you accidentally remove it from the socket on the motherboard, open the socket and replace it GENTLY!). If it is a cable, than pop it off and replace the unit (you may have to unscrew it from the case).

- if the slot is connected directly to the motherboard than go ahead and warm up you soldering iron and a cup of coffee. BEWARE: you can damage your motherboard doing this... you really are better off just leaving it be.

- put the beast back together...and fire it up (be careful not to lose any screws and try not to have any "extra" screws left over).

How do I restore pictures that were deleted on the SD memory card?

I have a Canon PowerShot TX1 camera. I had shot movies and pictures. The SD card was not formatted. The card is 4gb. Hope you can help. Thank you!

How do I restore pictures that were deleted on the SD memory card?
I hate that delete button or feature. DO NOT USE IT AGAIN. Move your files over to your computer and once you have confirmed they are on the hard drive, format the card using the format feature in menu. This will refresh the card and write a new image index file. This is the file that becomes corrupt when photographers delete individual images before they decide to move their images to the computer.

There are some programs that can restore image files that were deleted on your memory card, but you have to be patient. In February I recovered about 80% of an old 128mb card and it took nearly five hours.

Good luck
Reply:i dont think you can restore it if you already deleted it. if you have it on your camera then go to trash and choose restore pictures. thats what i hae on mine.

(the card came with NO instructions)

How do I put music on a flash memory micro SD card for my phone from the computer?
You put the Micro SD card in the adapter, and the adapter in the PC. It will then show up as being a drive under My Computer.
Reply:Your micro sd card fits in the top of your adapter. Then put the adapter into your computer. You should select the option "open folder to view files" when the little box of options pops up. Then there should be a subfolder that says music. If there isnt, make one. then just drag the songs from your computer into the folder. Put the micro card in your phone and go to the mp3 player program and you are all set.

The cheapest and fastest way to get it is to buy it on eBay. You can get if for less then $5.00 and then download it so there is no shipping cost.

For current eBay listings go to eBay and do a search for “Motorola Phone Tools”. Look at the ones that offer digital delivery. I have seen it as cheap as $2.60

Once you have the software Motorola updates it free forever.

What happens if you have an SD card but the Wii says its locked?

If this can help anyone, the SD card came from a plasma TV to show off how well it can show HD images. I don't know how to unlock so, can anyone help me with this?

On the side of the card, there should be a small plastic clip that you can move to unlock the card. It works the same way the "write" function worked on old floppy drives.
Reply:Just unlock it. On the side of the SD card there is a thing that slides up and down. Just move it the opposite way of where it is right now.

Why do you have to format a sd media/memory card?

I got a brand new Canon camera that uses the SD memory card, I already got 3 other exact SD cards from my old Canon. Can I use the same card in this new camera or will something bad happen? I am just wondering so I don't mess up my sd card because I have some images I would like to remain on there. Thanks for all your help!!!

Why do you have to format a sd media/memory card?
It is a good idea to format your cards after copying you image files to your computer. This refreshes the card and writes new file folders and and a new image index file.

This process (formatting) prevents corruption, so you may never have to buy an image recovery program.

How do i copy my files from my micro SD card onto my chocolate phone?

SanDisk 512MB micro SD

Chocolate LG phone

I had pictures and music stored on the SD card from my old phone, but couldnt save them onto the new chocolate phone.

How do i copy my files from my micro SD card onto my chocolate phone?
If your old phone wasn't an LG phone, it's possible that it can't read the micro SD card. For example, I took my SD card out of my Motorola phone and tried to transfer the files to my friend's LG phone, but the LG couldn't read it. In that case, you should transfer the SD card contents to your computer (using a USB memory card adapter) and then reformat the card in the LG. Then transfer the files from your computer to the SD card. Good luck.

How can i retrieve my pictures in an SD card?
Did you format the card before you first used it? And did you also format it regularly after that, especially after uploading all images to your computer?

If the answer is no, then your card most likely has errors caused by you not formatting it.

Don't format it now, though, or else you will lose your images, which you may be able to retrieve if you use a file/card recovery program of some sort.

In future you should remember to format your card after everytime you upload your images.

If file recovery does not work (and you have formatted the card before), then it could be the card itself. It should still be under warranty...so take it back.
Reply:What does the error say, does it say it's locked by any chance. if it does say it's locked, take the memory card out, look on the side of it, there is a small white or black strip, move that up or down, one way will unlock it and the other will lock it again, unlock it and put it back into the camera or card reader and it should work, if not it's got me stumped.

What is the point of the sliding lock on an SD card if someone can easily unlock it?

Apart from the possiblity of encrypting documents on the memory car or using password protected documents, why is an SD card equipped with its own sliding lock?

What is the point of the sliding lock on an SD card if someone can easily unlock it?
It's so you don't overwrite by accident. If you know the pictures are important and you need to save them, you hit the lock. Then if you pick the wrong card you can't accidentally overwrite things.
Reply:it's so you don't accidentally erase the disk contents.
Reply:It's just a "write protect" lever, like on a floppy disk. It doesn't do anything for privacy, but it prevents the contents from being changed by mistake.

you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time, and you can aslo get your question answer in Google Search in this website, which has already helped me very much.
Reply:The very first time you insert any memory card into a device, the card needs to be formatted so that it can be configured specifically to that device. It shouldn't keep asking you to reformat it, however. Try inserting a new card in and see what happens. If it still asks you to reformat, try returning the camera. Best of luck!

How do I recording directly from a SD card video camcorder to an external hard drive without a computer?

I want to be able to transfer video files from a SD card video camcorder directly to a external portable hard drive without using a computer such as a laptop of desktop.

How do I recording directly from a SD card video camcorder to an external hard drive without a computer?
Card players/readers are available ... one can transfer the content on the card to any USB storage device too (like USB HDD....)

another option is visit : www.inoi.com/English/hd182.asp
Reply:too bad your camera does not have a DV ilink output. In that case you can use a Focus Firestore. Not only will that capture your video as you shoot, it converts it into ready-to-edit file format.
Reply:Look through your camcorders menu. If it has a transfer files option, which I doubt, select that while the external hd is connected and see if it starts moving them.

If not, you'll need a computer. The files will just be running in through one cable and right out another if you have both cables, or one if you first drop them onto your computer's hd. I know you don't want to do either but there's most likely no other option.
Reply:Look for USB OTG (On The Go) disk drives. So long as the camcorder appears as an external drive you should be able to copy the files across.

You can also buy OTG cases and put your own disk in.

How do you clean the little golden metal pieces on the SD card?

I put my SD card in the slot, and the light that's supposed to go on when the card can be read, won;t turn on. The pictures can't be read by the computer. Should I clean it?

How do you clean the little golden metal pieces on the SD card?
I would try a different card reader before messing with card. If it works in camera then it should work in reader.
Reply:soft dry cloth
Reply:Deffenetly don't touch the golden piece, it can wreck the card. I would get a new reader to start out with, there only around $15.00.
Reply:You can use a pencil eraser to clean it. I have also used rubbing alcohol and a Q tip. Just don't use to much and put the alcohol on the q tip not the card.
Reply:Sure, cleaning done correctly will do no harm. Have a close inspection of the contacts. They should all be a consistent orange-gold colour. You may need a magnifying glass to check, may be not, but if you can see variation in the colour of the contacts, it may need cleaning. Tarnishing or corrosion will appear as a darker shade on the contacts, a brassy colour.

The number one offender for this is the fats and acids in your sweat, or residue from soft drinks/sodas.

If the contacts are corroded or dirty, wipe it with a cotton bud or clean cloth moistened with a few drops of methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol. If this doesn't shift the contamination, rub lightly in one direction on the contacts with a pencil eraser, then wipe clean. Be careful not to wet the card with the alcohol, as it can very easily seep between the joins on your card.

BUT, if the card contacts do not appear to be dirty or corroded, the problem might be your card reader. Try another SD card if you have one, or try a friends reader. If it is your reader, you can buy contact cleaners for card readers from some camera stores, and from computer stores. Or alternately, a new USB card reader would be very cheap.

Is the SD card still working in your camera? If you can still delete, and take pictures, there is probably nothing wrong with the card at all.

Why Have SD Memory Cards Crashed In Price......Picked One Up For £5 In Morrisons?

For A 1gb SD Card

They Use To Cost £100,For A 1 Gig Card On Shopping Channels,Not Long Back

Anyone Else Noticed This?

Why Have SD Memory Cards Crashed In Price......Picked One Up For £5 In Morrisons?
Because SD cards are old technology.

They have been superseded by XD cards and flash drives. This is what happens when technology progresses - the out of date stuff gets cheaper, because fewer people want it.

I mean, how much is a video recorder these days...??
Reply:Probably because micro SD cards have been released and those go up to 2Gb. They cost up to 30 pounds so the older normal SD cards have lost almost all their value.
Reply:this happends with everything rember when freeview boxs came out frist they would cost about £100 now you can pick one up for about £20
Reply:They are mass producing it, and from the trends they are going to dump all the mechanical Harddrives and switch to flash memory based drives computers, in the near future. Which essentially means the prices of Hard drive for 200G should come down to 200$ or less, its not in sight yet.

Is it possible to put music on an sd card thru a camera?

I have the kodak easyshare c533 and id like to put music on the sd card adapter onto the mini sd so ican listen to music on my razr v3. does anyone know how to do this or if this is possible at all?

Is it possible to put music on an sd card thru a camera?
If you can hook-up your camera to a pc and use the camera as a drive, then you can any file there.

Here's how it will possibly work:

1. Insert your SD into the camera

2. Connect your camera to your PC. New OS should be able to recognize your camera as a separate "removable drive".

3. Drag your MP3 files to the removable drive. The PC's OS will automatically notify you if the SD capacity is exceeded.

4. Eject your camera safely from your pc, then you're done.

Another way to do this is by using a separate media reader you can probably find in computer stores. All you to do is plug this in to your pc and follow steps 3 and 4 above...
Reply:I would think not as it would be in a format that your camera will not understand.

Is there any way to transfer a pic from my camera to the sd card?

Here's what happened, i have this picture that i really like stored in my camera, but with no SD card. When i went to try to get it on my computer, it wouldn't work because the part where i plug in the wire is kinda bent. Is there a way to get that picture on the sd card..

or does anyone have any other idea of how to get it on thecomputer?

Is there any way to transfer a pic from my camera to the sd card?
Look for "Copy" or "Transfer" on your utilities menu.

Choose your action, which will be either from the card to the camera or the camera to the card. You will want to choose "Camera to Card" or "Internal Memory to Card" or something similarly descriptive.

You will be asked if you want to transfer all images or just some seleceted images. Choose according to your wishes.

You will then be shown a prompt for completing the copying operation and, of course, you will choose that.

This ought to do it.
Reply:u can't reverse the picture transfer process. right now, you can only go camera-computer, not computer-camera.

most computers come with more than one usb port, so u should have more than one option to hook your camera to it. If not, it's a tough one:u'd have to fix the bent port.

I knw dis is after the fact, but u shld have stored the picture in the sd card as you take 'em. That way, portability is always guaranteed.

Sorry.

How do I save photos to my micro SD card in my cell phone?

go to the picture you want to save to your memory card

then go to options and find a setting that says move or save or something like that

and it might give you a choice to move it to the memory card

Why won't my SD card from a Kodak camera work in my media card reader on my pc?

My media card reader built-in to my dell pc will not recognize an SD card from my friends Kodak camera. The card from my Samsung camera works perfect in the card reader.

Why won't my SD card from a Kodak camera work in my media card reader on my pc?
Your friend's card has probably never been formatted. This eventually leads to errors. After your friend downloads the pictures onto another computer, your friend should then format the card using the format selection on the camera.
Reply:You said it, Dell.

You may not have a program that recognizes the card or maybe the program is not running.

How to format my SD card to work in my camera?

I just bought a 4 GB SD card to use in my digital camera, but when I put it in the camera, it says 'unable to format'. I've tried to format it from my PC, but the only option I have is to format it to FAT32 and that doesn't work in the camera, either (and I don't know what that even means!) I've tried the HP website, and the card manufacturer's website (Puremedia) and there aren't any links....

Please help!

How to format my SD card to work in my camera?
Yup sadly that camera only supports cards up to 2GB. It comes down to the number of memory spaces the camera can address. Camera chips were made to go to a maximum of 2GB before such large cards were invented. Now because cards are bigger, the camera has to be able to address more memory spaces. If your camera can't do that, the camera is said not to be SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) compatible.

Nothing that can be done about it either - sorry.

Regards, ~~~~teef~~~~
Reply:Have you tried formating with command prompt with a fs switch? Report Abuse

Reply:camera doesn't support this size.
Reply:4GB is really huge. Maybe the camera doesn't support this size.

If it was me, I'd trade it in for 2x 2GB.

FAT32 is a is a partially patented file system developed by Microsoft.

Reply:First ansa's probably correct.

I don't know of a camera that can recognise 4gb and I have been playing with them for years.

2gb is a common max at the moment, but hang on to it. It will certainly be usable soon.
Reply:Are you sure your camera is capable of using such a large card - most only go to 2Gb - send me the model and I will be able to confirm this for you
Reply:it is too big for the camera
Reply:bring your camera and the SD card to the shop where you make the purchase, maybe the camera don't support.
Reply:That camera only works on a card up to 2gig.

I want to add some pictures on a SD card and have the file under a password and be able to view these pictures on my Sprint Palm Treo 700wx.

How can I picture on a SD card but keep these pictures under a password?
You can't. It is very difficult to 'lock' content on an SD card that can't be read by different system.
Reply:You can't
Reply:Basically it depends upon ur OS running on ur pda in your case (u r running windows mobile edition), there are lot of programs available for doing your request(folder lock) freely, just google them

How do I store pictures and videos from my SD card onto my computer?

If this helps, the SD card is from my camera which is a Polariod t737 7MP Digital Camera.

How do I store pictures and videos from my SD card onto my computer?
Step 1) buy a USB 2.0 card reader that takes SD cards.

Step 2) plug it into your computer and allow it to be recognized.

Step 3) insert the SD card into the appropriate slot.

Step 4) Open the drive for the SD card on your computer's file management software (i.e.Windows Explorer).

Step 5) Copy and paste the files into your computer's hard drive.
Reply:Most important: get a card reader, and make sure it reads SD cards.

but depending on your computer,

once you plug in the card reader, and put in the card,

there might be a "program" that will help transfer and organize your pictures for you.
Reply:If your computer does not have a port for flash cards such as SD, XD, CF or Memory Stick... go out and purchase a card reader. They come in multiple type models (6in1, 12in1). Just about all of them support SD. They range in price from around 10-50 dollars. They pretty much all do the trick though. Most of them are plug in play so all you need to do is pop the SD card into the reader and plug the USB chord into the Computer and it will recognize it as a new drive. Once the new drive pops up in your "My Computer" screen, copy the files from the new drive onto your computer's drive (usually the C:\ drive).

How do i transfer music to my micro sd card lg rumor?
You need a micro sd adapter which makes your mirco to a normal size then a sd adapter which takes your card and lets it plug in to a usb port

then just drag and drop on your desktop from there

i have the same phone as you and i need help with sort of the same problem

i put in my mirco sd chip and try to take a pic or something involving the card and it says Error please reset phone so i do and it keeps telling me the same error

did this happen to you?
Reply:Well, it should have adapter for that micro sd coz there's no any memory slot that can fit into the pc. If you don't have that adapter, I don't think you can put into your pc. You might need to buy it from ebay. I also hope you should also buy the cable.
Reply:sure!! either you use a card reader, which is faster and more reliable, or you buy a cable, which is slower and most probably more expensive.
Reply:Does your comp. have bluetooth? Maybe you can sync your files over that way o_O

Is there a way to transfer my photos from my computer to an SD card?

I purchased a digital photo frame which requires an SD card. That would be no problem if my photos were stored on the SD card but they are stored on my computer. I don't have any way to insert the SD card into my computer to copy picture files onto it. Is there a way to transfer the pictures from my computer back to the SD card using the camera? I'm using a Kodak easyshare camera and a mac laptop. Thanks!

Is there a way to transfer my photos from my computer to an SD card?
There are several ways to transfer images to a photo frame.

The easiest method is to use an SD (or multi) card reader. Just insert your memory card into it (which is plugged into your computer's USB port). It will show up as a removable drive. Images can then easily be transferred by copy %26amp; pasting.

Or, you can use a USB flash drive in exactly the same way as a card reader. It then plugs into the photo frame's USB port once your images have been transferred to it.

Many photo frames also allow direct connection to a computer via USB cable.

Most photo frames also include a built in speaker, so you can include music tracks to play with a slideshow of your images. Movies recorded on your digital camera are also able to be viewed on a photo frame.

Anyway, check the instructions that came with the photo frame. Surely, they would help you in some way to learn what you can do with your frame?
Reply:yup..you need a chord to your cam. then pick the picture on you com. right click hit transfer, and hit transfer to sd card..

thats how mine works!, but it could be dif. 4 yours hope i helped
Reply:yes, you either need the usb cord that plugs into the comp and the camera, or you can get a memory card reader (which you stick the sd card into and plug it into the usb port)
Reply:You should be able to browse your camera pictures through My Computer, you can try to copy files over while you're in there. Not positive it will work though.

If not, you can get multi-card read/writers that plug into your computer through USB from most electronics stores for around $15 or so.

How many pictures and videos can be stored on a 32 mb, 512mb 1 gb, and 2gb SD memory cards?

depends on what MegaPixel camera you have for a 2MP camera a 512mb card can hold 568 pics and on a 1gb card can hold 876. now a 4mp camera can hold 268 pics with a 512mb card and 538 pics with a 1gb card. Sorry I dont know the rest.

How many pictures and videos can be stored on a 32 mb, 512mb 1 gb, and 2gb SD memory cards?
it varies w/ image resolution, and resolution settings within the camera itself. answer below is at lower quality pics. bring 2 cards and experiment with the pic quality settings you like.

Can you use regular SD memory cards on the Wii instead of the official Wii memory card?

yup, the only difference is the sd wii memory cards cost more because they're white and say wii on them.

Can you use regular SD memory cards on the Wii instead of the official Wii memory card?
Yes you can, but you don't have to have a memmory card to save games. The Wii comes with a 512 internal harddrive. The games are also alot smaller when you save so you should have plenty of space. You may want SD memmory card if you want to take the game to your friends house though. You may also want a regular gamecube memmory card becouse im not sure if gamecube games can save on sd memmory cards.
Reply:Yes, you can--but keep in mind that the SD Card slot on the Wii is not designed for Mini-SD cards. For that, you'll need an adapter...but it'll work, no worries. Hope this helps, good luck!

There are SD and Micro Sd (which has an adapter to make into SD normal size) - go to http://www.ebuyer.com they are about the cheapest around for SD cards - choose saver on postage (within 5 days)

What is the difference between a SD-card And a XD card?

I bought a New Camera, and i dont know witch type of card to get. I can use eather of the two, SD or Xd. It is a megazoom camera " high quality" 10 megapixles, 18 optical zoom. PLZ help!

What is the difference between a SD-card And a XD card?
If you're using it with a Fuji camera, get an XD card type H. If you can't get a type H card, get an SD card.
Reply:Right now, xD only goes up to 2GB. If you want a bigger card, you don't have a choice.
Reply:The XD memory card standard was largely developed by Olympus. A few years ago, Olympus made some very good quality digital cameras and XD gained some ground with Fuji. Sadly, Olympus has been eclipsed by Nikon, Sony and Canon.

By the SD memory cards. They are available with higher capacity than are XD (even though they are physically smaller!), they transfer data faster and they generally cost less.

Check and see if your camera can use the new SD HC (High Capacity) cards. They are electrically different than are SD and so not always compatible. If it can sue them (likely), you can get 8GB and soon 16GB SD HC cards.

Astrobuf
Reply:It sounds like you have a fujifilm camera... they are the only ones that use both. Buy SD cards ... they are the most used of any card in the point and shoot genre of digital cameras.

When you buy a new camera in about three or four years, you will have more choices among the other cameras that use SD cards.

Writing photos to an SD card but camera will not recognise them?

I have copied photos from an SD card into my computer, edited them, and written them back to a different, empty, SD card. The computer will display them from this second card OK but none of the cameras I have tried the card in (Samsung, Cnon and Panasonic) will recognise that there are photos on the card.

I am doing this incidentally in order to be able to easily display to colleagues the edited photos.

Any suggestions as to what the answer might be?

Writing photos to an SD card but camera will not recognise them?
It will not work.

Just burn a CD and show your images on your notebook computer ... it has a larger screen and very thing

Cameras do not "see" image files that have been modified in any way. If it could see a non-original image, the image file would have to be placed in the right file folder on the memory card and named using the same syntax as the camera does.

I have switched CF cards from different model of the same camera brand and the camera does not see any images from the other camera ... only the ones taken by the camera which is holding the card.

Is there a difference between an sd card and a mmc card? Some sites have the cards as the same thing.Thank you

Mmc stands for multi-media card. I need one for my cell phone.

Is there a difference between an sd card and a mmc card? Some sites have the cards as the same thing.Thank you
Although one is technically "based on" the other, you pretty much want to buy the one that your device is designed for. Here is the flash memory (SD, MMC, Sony MS, etc) page at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCat...
Reply:Secure Digital(SD) cards are based on the older Multi Media Card (MMC). They are lightly thicker than the MMC cards. In MOST cases, MMC cards can be read by SD card slots. SD cards will not fit into thinner MMC card slots. However, special adapters are available to do this.

SD cards have a much higher transfer rates than MMC cards, but this changing with advances in technology.

Hope this helps.

How do I take the pictures from the sd card to my computer?

I have pictures on the sd card but there is no copy pictures from camera to computer link, only to a cd link. It is all in different screens and I can not figure it out, please help...I am lost.

How do I take the pictures from the sd card to my computer?
Two ways:

1- check if your conputer has a mini slot that handle SD cards, inserted, it'll show in one of the drives where you can navigate copy, move, paste or delete.

2- if the device you took the picture with (camara, phone or other) it probably came with a usb cable that you can plug on your pc and do what you need to do... copy...delete... move...
Reply:Right clickon the installed device and select "explore" then copy 2 a folder.
Reply:There should be a listing in My Computer that shows your camera or the card reader if that's what you're using and just click on it and it should open up a screen to download pics from the card.
Reply:Use an app like Picasso from the web, and configure your camera to "jump" your pixs from "disk drive" to PC , or bridge it. Go into Control Panel for these. Hope this helps a bit!
Reply:um try looking to see if you have an sd card reader? otherwise i dont get you question
Reply:If you can't figure out how to get them straight to your computer, you can always go to one of those Kodak machines, at Target or Walgreens, and just put your SD card in there and transfer all of your pictures to a CD. Then it will be really easy to get on your computer! Just an idea!
Reply:Easy.

How does the micro sd card work for the LG wave?

I just bought an LG wave and I want to use the music option. I understand that it uses a micro sd card and plan on purchasing one. My question is however, they are much more expensive on Alltel, because they charge your for software for you computer and a cord. Couldn't you simply just buy a micro sd card from walmart, plug it into your computer and drag songs over to it or is the software really required? If anyone has an LG wave please help me with this question, thanks.

How does the micro sd card work for the LG wave?
Yes it uses a mico sd card. I bought mine from alltel and it was a ripoff! You should just get it from walmart or werever. No you dont need any software. You just drag them over. You can also save your photos on it and your video. When you have the card you can take a hours worth of video or more determining on what size of card you get. I hope this helped.

I can't think how much things would fit into those though like how many songs and photos could I have on my mobile with one of those Micro SD cards in? And where is the best and cheapest place to get them and what brand? Thanks

How much stuff fits in 1GB? How much is enough for a mobile? Where can I get a Micro SD card?
1GB is roughly 400 mp3s at a decent bitrate (around 192kbps).

It is also about 2 hours of video, give or take, in mpeg4 format.

Photos depend entirely on the size of the image, and the format its saved in, and the quality.

1GB will do plenty for you in terms of having mp3s on your phone, you can always change the songs later - you can't listen to 400 songs in one session!!
Reply:I Gig is 1024 MB. Roughly you can have upto1000-1200 songs in a gig. Lot of smaller movie clips. Think of a 1gig PSP, it can store a few movies/games.

Brand shouldn't matter while buying.Sandisk or if u wanna go for quality Magicgate are good brands. Ebay must have hundreds on offer! Go for a 2 Gb card.

try putting your sd card straight into your pc and do it through my computer. if not, try through a digital camera

Reply:Make sure that you are not only adding the music files in the correct folder on the card but make sure you have the correct music formats. Go to your computer and locate the drive that the card is using (:E, :F etc) open it and locate the folder that holds your music files. Then Locate the folder on your computer that is holding all your music files. Now you simply drop and drag the music from the music folder into the music folder on the card.

I have a Rumor by LG, and I just bought a Sandisk Micro SD card and two adapters. I want to put files (mp3 files) onto my phone through the card, but I don't know how to do that. I've got the big adapter and the little one and the card itself, which is in my phone. How does this work and why is it so maliciously complicated?

How do I use my Micro SD card to put files on my phone?
You put the little one into the slot thats on the big one, and can put it in your computer. If its in your phone when your saving stuff (like pictures or sounds) just hit save to memory card instead of save to phone.
Reply:Ok so if your computer has an SD card reader you can put the little card into the biggest adapter and put the card in your computer and just use it like you would a floppy, CD, DVD, or jump drive.

If not then your phone needs to have a data plug - i don't know anything about that model phone, sorry - and you can plug iyou phone directly into the computer and use it as the floppy, CD, DVD, or jump drive. Just open it like you would a normal file.

If you don't have an SD reader on your computer and your phone doesn't have a data plug then you can't put files on the card.

If you copy game saves and other data from one SD card to another for the Wii, is it still usable?

In other words, if I run out of space on one memory card and want to transfer all my data on the old SD card to a new bigger SD card, will the old data still work on the wii? I am just wondering since I heard that Wii's may encrypt the data so it can only be played on one SD card. I really don't want to lose all of my game saves. Thanks so much for the info!

If you copy game saves and other data from one SD card to another for the Wii, is it still usable?
You should be able to do that. Wii somehow prevent transfer of channels from one Wii to another, but that seems to be more that each Wii keeps a catalog of what channels it should have on it. Save files for games work the same way, but you can just pop the disk in and create a save in order to have the right to have a save file on the system.

Is it possible to edit photos from my digital camera SD card and then save them for poster enlargement?

What if I take a photo and its on my SD card, and i take the image and put text or edit it on my PC. Would it be possible I can save it back to the sd card so I can have it enlarged and developed poster size?

Is it possible to edit photos from my digital camera SD card and then save them for poster enlargement?
In short, yes.

You want to edit a photo and put it back on the SD card to transport it to the printers. It will work just like a USB drive. Once you edit the photo your camera may not recognize it even though it was the camera that took the pic.

Tungsten E2 Problem with SD Cards?

I have a Tungsten E2, I have tried a Scandisk SD 2GB card and a Lexar SD 512MB Card (card from a digital camera) and it still does not read the SD cards, please help.

Tungsten E2 Problem with SD Cards?
When you insert the SD card does the E2 "announce" / make the "Palm Sound" when the card is inserted? If not the contacts may be dirty, so clean contacts on the SD card with an eraser on the end of the pencil and then insert.

Hopefully, you will hear the "confirmation" sound when pushing in the SD card.

Go to "Applications" select "Card Info" program. It will open and show the type and size of the card. Go to the "Menu" icon and tap. Select "Format Card". This will erase all information on the SD card so make sure you have transferred the information to another storage media.

After formating, your E2 should see the card and be able to read and write information.

Google and download "FileZ" free utility software. You should be able to view and manipulate files / information stored on your SD card.

Good luck.
Reply:I'm having this same problem with the San-Disk 2g card I bought today. It doesn't even recognize that a card is inserted with the brand new card. It does work with my card that came with the E2. My understanding after reading through information on www.palmone.com is that I should be able to read both Multimedia Cards and SD Cards. I found another post here on questions stating that there is a limit on how large of a size the E2 can read, but that one person is the only reference I have heard about this. If you have found any answers to your question, please send them my way. If I find any I will certainly let you know.

How many pictures will a 4gb sd card hold with a 5 megapixel camera?

Just needing to know how many pics a 4gb sd card will hold on a 5 megapixel camera..

How many pictures will a 4gb sd card hold with a 5 megapixel camera?
About 2200 for 4gb on a 5 MP camera, about 1100 for 2gb - however, you got to consider if your camera has a high capacity capability - if not, then you can only go as high as 2 gb. Here's a site that has the table for it:

http://www.digitalphotographywebsite.com...
Reply:You can do two things. Look in your cameras manual and look at the chart that lists the capacities of various size cards at various resolutions or put one of your smaller cards in your camera, format it and see how may shots are available ... then do the math.

My 4GB card on my 10MP camera will hold 207 high resolution images. I shoot RAW + JPEG Basic on all my shoots

About 750 pics. The division calculates out to 800 but there is some unusable memory.

How do you expand the Micro SD card to 1 GB on the Datel Games N Music?

I'm planning to buy the Datel Games n Music app for the DS and I've read the descriptions for it and it says comes with 128MB Micro SD card expandable to 1 GB. How do you do that?

How do you expand the Micro SD card to 1 GB on the Datel Games N Music?
You will have to buy the 1 gig Micro SD to replace the 128mb one...that is the upgrade. you can own as many Micro SD card's as you want.
Reply:the micro sd is a chip that holds the games. when they say expandable to 1gb that means if you want more space for games you can buy a chip with more space up to 1gb for more games. so for example the 128mb might be able to hold 5 games but the 1 gig could hold up to 20

Are micro sd cards wma compatible?

because i keep adding WMA format music into my 1gb micro sd card, but it doesn't show on my phone. just the music MP3 format. so, i wanna know if this is normal. do micro SD's accept WMA format music?

Are micro sd cards wma compatible?
To an extent, this depends on the phone or music player. But it's also important to install the music correctly. If you're dealing with regular MP3, no DRM, you can usually just copy the music over, like dragging it to the memory card. To install protected WMAs, you pretty much have to use Windows Media Player to sync it (or possibly a program designed specifically for that phone)... this is part of the WMA DRAM procedure.

Aside from that, I don't know of any reason the micro-SD card would not support DRMed WMA files itself. I know this was an issue on the Sandisk Sansa, but I think it was due to the player itself (it also didn't support video files on micro-SD). It would seem awfully deceptive, too, if your phone claims to support WMA with DRM, yet only does that from internal memory.

I would first try to ensure that I installed it properly. Also, make sure you have the right files... there are more than one flavor of DRMed WMA files. These can be purchased files for "Plays for Sure" systems, "rented" files for one of the "monthly fee" services, they can be for Zune, etc. Some forms of this may very well NOT work on your phone, period.

As an experiment, try installing the file in the phone's internal memory, then if that works, use the same procedure for the SD card.
Reply:If the WMA files are protected, you can't see them or you need to remove the protection.

Use a DRM converter to remove the protection, then have a try.

You can free download this to have a try.

Does it matter what kind of sd card is used for a digital camera?

I have an hp photosmart 6 mp digital camera, and I was wondering if it mattered as to what brand of SD card is used to have better pictures. There are many brands like polaroid, sandisk, and others. Which one is best if any?

Does it matter what kind of sd card is used for a digital camera?
Yes it does matter IMO. Speed and Reliability. I have only used and will only use Sandisk for my memory cards. Because there is that small chance the memory card can corrupt data if you get some offbrand (not confirmed) . In your case being that you have a point and shoot, you should just get a cheap san disk card. probably 1 or 2 gigs is plenty. I purchased my 2 gig Extreme III Sandisk card for 30 dollars.... thats a very fast and reliable card for my nikon dslr.
Reply:The brand doesn't matter, the speed does (although I wouldn't get just any card off eBay).

Generally, the faster the card, the better. However, with compact cameras you won't notice much difference, so I would say to go with the cheapest card you can find.
Reply:Brand of SD card doesn't matter so much. What matters is the speed of the SD card. The speed with which you can push the shutter button is dictated by how fast your camera can write the last picture to the memory card. The faster the memory card is, the better.

COM Surrogate problem with SD cards?

Every time I try to put all my pictures from my SD cards into my computer, the COM Surrogate thing pops up and it says it has stopped working. It's really annoying because when I access the folder with the pictures, the COM Surrogate pops up again. Any way to fix this?

COM Surrogate problem with SD cards?
This person reckoned it was caused by older versions of nero and divx that weren't fully vista compatible:

How do I transfer photos from computer to a SD memory card so I can review them on my Casio camera?

My girl friend likes to review our photos on our casio s600 camera. So I purchased a larger SD memory card and I am trying to transfer them from my computer onto the new SD card. But although they are on stored on the card they do not show up when I try to review them on the casio camera.

How do I transfer photos from computer to a SD memory card so I can review them on my Casio camera?
Moving them from your computer to the card should not prohibit your viewing them on the camera unless the camera is looking for proprietary format. Using Windows Explorer to move them back and forth should not change the format.

Have you viewed the card with the computer software after you copied them to ensure they actually were copied to the card?

One other thing to look for is a setting on your camera that allows you to view the pictures on the card. My Canon has a selector button that changes it from taking pictures to viewing the pictures on the card.

Reply:Hi, you can use Google picasa to help your photo management.

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.

It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.

It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google

Download it free in here:

How long could an 8gb sd card record mpeg-4 video for?

I am considering buying a camera, which takes sd cards, with a 8gb sd card. anyone know how long it could record for?

How long could an 8gb sd card record mpeg-4 video for?
If my 4GB card records 57 minutes and about 30 seconds an 8GB must record several hours. Sorry I can't be more precise but the amount of recording time usually depends on the camera's megapixels. When you see the packaging in the store I'm pretty sure the recording times are broken down on the back of the memory card package.

Where do i find out the maximum capacity memory card for my digicam, that wont take SD HC cards?

My cam is a Panasonic Lumix DMC - LC50

Thanks.xs

Where do i find out the maximum capacity memory card for my digicam, that wont take SD HC cards?
The maximum capacity of an SD-only camera is 2 GB.

Anything above 2 GB would be SDHC, which you have said your camera won't take.

How do I record to and download video from the Micro SD card on a JVC Everio GZ-MG360BU camcorder?

For a new Everio GZ-MG360BU video camera, the instruction book is silent on how to use the Micro SD card (not included with camera). If I buy a card, will video automatically be stored to the card when camera memory is full? Will stored video be downloaded to my PC when I connect the camera?

How do I record to and download video from the Micro SD card on a JVC Everio GZ-MG360BU camcorder?
Congratulations on your new video camera. I just got the same camcorder yesterday and I love it. But to answer you're question you will have to go to menu, then basic settings then you would see something called

record media for video,

and record media for image

if you want to use a card just press on that and change the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) to SD for either video or media. I suggest using HDD personally because it's bigger and it's easier to upload the videos and pictures to a PC. To download the videos and pictures to your PC you will have to connect it with a USB cable (included). And press Direct Back up on your camcorder. Hoped I helped!

I have a Garmin Street Pilot c340. How does the SD card slot work?

I thought the unit is supposed to read SD cards, say with photos or MP3's on it, but when I put a card in the slot, nothing happens? Are there any geniuses out there that can help me?

I have a Garmin Street Pilot c340. How does the SD card slot work?
The StreetPilot c340 does not play MP3s or display photos. The nuvi series does. The SD card is only for holding map data in your particular unit.

How do i format my mini sd card with my phone?

I already placed songs on the card, if that matters. The card is a k2 mini sd 1gb, and i don't know if it will work with my phone which says it allows 512 mb of external memory.

How do i format my mini sd card with my phone?
If it only allows 512mb of external memory then it will see your 1gb card as only 512mb. As for formatting, the first time that you put it in the phone, it should ask you to format it. If this is the case, then you will lose all of the songs that you already put on the card and you will have to take the card out of the phone and put the songs back on the newly formatted card.

How do I transfer music and picture files from my computer to the mini SD-card in my Nokia 6265i?

I am looking for the cheapest and easiest ways to get files from my computer onto the 1GB PQI mini SD memory card i bought to use with my nokia 6265i. Does a USB memory card reader transfer only to the computer from the mini SD, or can it also transfer files from the computer onto the mini SD card? That is the only possibility I have been able to come up with so far. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How do I transfer music and picture files from my computer to the mini SD-card in my Nokia 6265i?
I have a Nokia 6265i also and the way i transfer files from my computer to the mini SD-card in my phone is through Nokia's software which is available at http://www.nokiausa.com/support/pcsuite/...

The only thing you need is a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer. You can also connect to the computer via bluetooth (if your computer is bluetooth capable)

hope this helps
